During your time in Denver, sign up for one of our scheduled activities or enjoy the day on your own, exploring the downtown Denver area.

Please note that tours have morning departures, so you may only select one event per day.

Thursday, April 30

Denver Foodie Tour:  $135 per person – Pre-registration required; the deadline for signup is April 15, 2020 (4-hour tour: 20 person maximum – – transportation via the 16th Street Mall Shuttle) A tour guide will meet you in the Hotel Lobby for a departure at 10:00 AM. total walking distance 4 blocks.

Tantalize your taste buds – this three-hour walking tour explores some of Denver’s best eateries. Enough for a satisfying lunch, tastings include mouth-watering pulled pork sandwiches, farm-raised sheep’s milk cheese, olive oil samplings, Denver’s favorite ice cream, and more. Learn the history of the dishes, how they are prepared and connect with Denver’s vibrant culinary scene. The three-hour guided tour dives into Denver’s history and top eats and includes six (6) delicious tastings. Please note: this tour requires approximately one mile of walking. 

  • 10:00am – Group departs Brown Palace
  • 10:30 –  Tour begins at Union Station
  • 10:30 – 1:30pm – Tour Lower Downtown’s Food Scene
  • 2:00pm – Return to Brown Palace

Friday, May 1

Old West to New West Walking Tour – $85 per person. Pre-registration required – deadline to register is April 15,  (4.5-hour tour: 30 person maximum- transportation via the 16th Street Mall Shuttle. Snacks and water provided) A tour guide will meet you in the Hotel Lobby for a departure at 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM. Total walking distance: approximately 4 miles.

Learn about this walkable city with its rich Western history, from the Gold Rush days and railroad era to the vibrant, creative city it is today. Start at Denver’s first commercial street – Larimar Square and discover historic hotels, LoDo (Lower Downtown), the State Capitol and more. Please note: Not enough time has been allocated at any stop for a tour inside the specific location. Our experienced tour guide will provide the information at each tour stop.

Behind the Velvet Curtain – $65 per person. Pre-registration required – deadline to register is April 15.  (4-hour tour). 30 person maximum. A tour guide will meet you in the Hotel Lobby. Transportation will be by the 16th Street Mall Shuttle) Departure time 9:30 AM -12:00 PM. Approximate walking distance 6 blocks.

The Denver Performing Arts Complex (DPAC) is the largest theatre complex of its kind in the world. The complex is comprised of ten individual performance spaces, including Boettcher Concert Hall, Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre, the Helen G. Bonfils Theatre Complex, and the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, which play host to Colorado Ballet, Colorado Symphony Orchestra, and Opera Colorado, among others.

Guests will have the unique opportunity to tour a selection of these facilities and gain access to the behind-the-scenes areas of these performance spaces. You’ll see trap doors, catwalks, and dressings rooms, as well as DCPA’s 88,000 square foot production facility. Please note: theaters to be toured will be determined once performances and rehearsal schedules are confirmed. Tentative schedule is as follows:

  • 9:30am departure from Brown Palace
  • 10:00am – Behind the Scenes tour at the Denver Performing Arts Center begins
  • 11:30am – Behind the Scenes tour concludes
  • 12:00pm – arrive back to the Brown Palace
