IAM members in the Toronto area, please take special note that the Ontario Bar Association will be presenting their Award of Excellence for Alternative Dispute Resolution to IAM Board of Governors member, Jon Fidler at a celebration to be held on October 27th. Congratulations to Distinguished Fellow and IAM Board member, Jon Fidler on being awarded the Ontario Bar Association Award of Excellence in ADR for 2016!
The ADR Award of Excellence recognizes exceptional contributions and/or achievements in Alternative Dispute Resolution in two or more of the following areas: Excellence in the practice of ADR; Participation in continuing legal education at the OBA, Canadian Bar Association, Law Society of Upper Canada or other organizations on ADR issues; Writing and teaching on ADR issues; Mentoring of other persons in ADR; Participation in law reform initiatives that touch upon ADR; and Promotion of the use of, and generally providing leadership in ADR.
Jon also recently chaired the highly successful Winkler/IAM/Osgoode PD Conference which was held on May 12th in Toronto. This was the Third Annual Event and was entitled “The Unsettleable Case- Advanced Strategies for Senior Council and Mediators.” IAM speakers at the CLE program included Pat Coughlan, Tracy Allen, Gene Moscovitch and George Brown (Keynote)
